MENTEN, MAUD LEONORA (named at birth Maud, she added Lenora around and later spelled it Leonora), educator, research scientist, biochemist, and pathologist; b. 20 March in Lambton County, Ont., daughter of Charles William Menten and Emma Trusler; d. unmarried 17 July in Leamington, Ont., and was buried in Chilliwack, B.C.

Maud Menten’s family moved in to the small community of Harrison River (Harrison Mills), B.C., where her father operated boats and was the postmaster.
