Debbie Akers

Debbie Akers took the scenic route to Education Service Center, Region 20—literally! After an adventurous hiatus hiking the Pacific Crest Trail with her daughter, she brought her energy and passion to ESC-20.

Starting as a project manager, Debbie supported LEAs with Strong Foundations Research-Based Instructional Strategies and TCLAS grant initiatives from the Texas Education Agency.

Debbie's educational journey began at the University of Texas at San Antonio and upon graduation, she spent 14 joyful years shaping young minds in the early grades.
